Expedition
to the Torngat Mountains
Day
4: Sunday, August 12
Blisters
We leave camp, caching
some food and fuel to pick up on the return,
to continue up the valley toward the icefield and Mont d'Iberville,
at 1.652 metres the highest peak in Québec.
The two members with new boots struggle with blisters. Otherwise,
things are going well, although Bruno and I would not mind
pushing a few more kilometres per day.
I bathe twice today.
The water gets colder as we move up the valley toward the
mountain, but it feels so good to jump in the icy water, dry
off in the wind (and the sun when I'm lucky) and be buck naked
in the middle of nowhere.
Maybe I'm turning
into an exhibitionist.
